For the 2008 Everyone, Everywhere Conference, A World Mission Conference of the Episcopal Church

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ:

Episcopalians are increasingly taking global mission to heart. We are, after all, members of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society. We walk as companions with our siblings in Christ throughout the world in innumerable ways – from mutual prayer and encouragement to hands-on medical and education ministries. Individuals like you provide the heart, hands, and resources of mission in our church.

The work of reconciling the world to God and each other in Christ is the Episcopal Church’s definition of mission. A growing understanding of mission brings the opportunity to find new ways of serving as mission partners, brainstorm dynamic approaches to the Millennium Development Goals, and recommit ourselves to the missional work of our baptismal covenant.

The 2008 Everyone, Everywhere conference is an opportunity to embrace that broad

understanding of mission. Everyone, Everywhere is a church-wide world mission conference that will meet June 5-8, 2008 in Baltimore, Maryland. This is an occasion to meet with other mission-minded Episcopalians to spread the gospel, share God’s dream, and celebrate the exciting work and witness that is taking place around the world.

I encourage you to consider being a part of the world mission event Everyone, Everywhere. Begin speaking with others who are committed to effective global mission efforts and lend your voice and presence to the conference. Take this opportunity to gather, learn, and grow around world mission. Let us celebrate what the Episcopal Church is doing with our companions around the world, and learn to be even more effective participants in God’s mission to reconcile the world. I remain

Your servant in Christ,

Katharine Jefferts Schori
